Yet when Lena stared at her with her bottom lip tucked under her teeth, Kara knew she would buckle. She didn’t want Lena to be alone knowing that despite the expert ease in which she maneuvered through these events and parties, she never particularly enjoyed them. Kara didn’t think too hard about how closely those words signaled her own actions.  Her face softened and offered her best friend her best smile. “Of course, I’ll go with you.”  They closed this favor request with a hug, one that Kara couldn’t help sinking into, arms wrapped around Lena’s form.  She was a sucker and she knew it.

Even now, she’s restraining herself for the good of others even if all she wants to do is punch Regina, punch Robin and her parents and maybe just punch herself for good measure for being an absolute fucking fool.  “You’re having a picnic with Robin and his wife who, by the way, happens to be the reason you’ve iced me out for three months, Regina. You—you’re having a goddamn picnic with my parents and their golden child. I guess you just needed me to chauffer Henry here to complete your happy fucking family, huh?”  She wipes at her face just as Regina’s features harden. Emma doesn’t care, though, because fuck her, fuck all of them. Regina has the audacity to step forward, but Emma glares at her and that stops the steps forward. “Miss Swan—”  “God! I’m not even Emma to you. Just Miss Swan, like I’m some fucking stranger. I don’t even get the courtesy of being on a first name basis with you, but you’re kissing a dude you’ve known for a few months and having goddamn family picnics,” she mutters, uncaring if Regina hears her or not.  She shakes her head, fed up with this bullshit. She wipes  her tears as the truth sinks in her bones. The reality that she can want and she can wish, but she will never amount to anything that anybody would ever want, least of all to the woman in front of her.  "No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, whatever friendship I thought we’d been working towards just isn't ever gonna be enough. Message received loud and clear, Regina." She doesn’t wait for whatever haughty, scathing reply might come out of Regina’s mouth. She gets in the car and stomps down on the gas, uncaring about her tires squealing as she peels away from the curb, speeding as far away as possible from her biggest heartbreak yet.

If you could, how would you write Terrible Tales without turning the heroes evil?

I don't think I could! Morality tales really aren't my thing.

When I fully retell existing fairy tales with my own values in mind, they turn into my Fix-It Fairy Tales, which purposefully contain more kindness, consent, and inclusivity:

Though we do strongly recommend wrapping up this challenge before the next spooky challenge begins, this event remains open basically as long as this bingo exists. Promptober creators have all of our 2024-2025 round to work on this event! If you want to work on it the whole year until we release the next spooky season event, we encourage you to do that. If spooky challenges are particularly your jam, we’d love to see what you do with ours when you’ve got the whole year to tackle it!

entries—Your fanwork is NOT required to use the prompt exactly as it appears on this list. Prompts need only inspire your fanwork, whether they appear word for word in it or not. However the prompt inspires you is correct, as far as we’re concerned. Subvert the prompt, reverse the prompt, marry the prompt—it’s up to you.

All forms of fannish works are accepted and encouraged for this event! Fanfic, fanart, poetry, podfics, fanvids, playlists, fiber and other crafts, fan edits, moodboards, etc.

You may start posting your Promptober fanworks as soon as they’re ready to share. No need to wait until October and no need to rush to get them all done in that month, either.

You were right, it unsettled the prince.

That and your power level, your was a smidge higher than the boy's, but he could tell that it wasn't even at your peak.

You were powerful and you carried yourself that way.

When you transformed, your hair didn't turn gold like the boy, who Vegeta didn't want to believe was Super Saiyan.

No, you, your hair was a color he'd never seen before.

It didn't just rise, it floated gently, like a swan gliding across the water.

Your eyes were a white crystal blue.

And unlike a Saiyan giving off a feeling of power, anger, and intensity.

You gave a feeling of ultimate calmness, the power was undeniable, yet not heavy, not suffocating.

So, yes. He was watching you.

Until he learned the truth, that you both were Saiyans.

"You're full-blooded?"

"Yes, sir."

"But-But how? There's no way you were on earth all this time and we never met you."

"Well, I was born around the time you all had died--I was adopted by earthlings...and you weren't meant to find me. Trunks was meant to find me."

Vegeta went from being suspicious to bragging.

"Huh? They got married or somethin'?"

I have historically, but as mik said it was definitely more on ff.net than AO3. Most of it has been easy to ignore overall.

I do but not often, partially because of the ace part of me that doesn't entirely get it from an emotional perspective lolol. I'm most comfortable with F/F but can reasonably (I hope lol) write F/M.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

idk if I could choose just one !! part of me wants to say it would be a Stargate ship like Sam/Janet because Stargate is always the ultimate series for me but I feel like I'm biased bc I'm currently obsessed with them again. If this was the me of like ten years ago I would have said Swan Queen which is what I have written the most for but god OUAT and I are forever sworn enemies I just want to bully that series the way it bullied me. I'm going with Sam/Janet just because currently I would die for them.

What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I have a really good Friends with Benefit AU for Ivanova/Talia that I really want to finish and get out. A Soulmate AU for my bois Ted/Trent. A Heroes AU for Sam/Janet. Nothing has been published but I know they're waiting to be finished.

but for real, funsies stuff is my fave. Also AUs, I excel at going in depth in my thoughts for them.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I enjoy when there are translations in the end notes for when I'm reading it but I also will otherwise put it into a translate service. I guess when writing I will keep it to simple phrases I know more than like full sentences? I'm not sure I have a strong enough opinion on this tbh

First fandom you wrote for?

zoowemama 100% was stargate - it was terrible and I'm so glad I have improved since because it was purely self indulgent but I think my first like ten fics were stargate, with maybe a twilight one or two.

Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

my extremely self-indulgent THG AU with Hayffie in the stargate universe. I just wish the stargate universe was as popular of an AU for other fandom works but alas that is what I get for falling in love with 90s scifi !! but this was so much fun to write and put easter eggs in and it was one of the first ones I wrote purely for me and less about what amount of hits/kudos/reviews/etc.

What’s better than one Femslash pairing? THREE FEMSLASH PAIRINGS! EVEN (some) OF THE BACKGROUND SHIPS ARE FEMSLASH! But the main focus is three relationships- and the POV changes with the chapters. It is a no killing game au (Danganronpa specific) But the fic writer has crafted it in a way that I don’t feel even a bit bored reading it. The only unfortunate is it’s unfinished but I’m of the weird category that I love unfinished fics (and I’ll wait forever for them to update- if they do then it’s a blessing and if they don’t then I’ll just keep rereading the unfinished fic 😅)

emma swan, princess of the kingdom, is assigned a coyote mask with a swan marking. while dancing, she bumps into a mysterious stranger wearing a jaguar mask with the same marking. before they can exchange names, this stranger - a thief more like - flees the ball with a priceless necklace thus becoming the kingdom’s most wanted.

Swan Queen Red String of fate, but with a twist. The basics are there, but that person might not be your soulmate. The idea is that you are supposed to learn something from this person. How do you know? Because one day the string is no longer there, but the next day is back, now leading you to someone else. How do you know when you've found the one? Don't wanna spoil the feels, so I'll DM the rest of my idea. POVs from both might be nice. OUaT canon ships will finally be actually useful.
